I just purchased a set of Rubery Owen & Co steel wheels for my 1970 Lotus Europa. These came standard on the car when purchased although many drivers updated to fancier mag wheels. In decent shape with original hubcaps they are now quite rare.
I’ll be refinishing the rims in the original aluminum colour. Whether I’ll use the wheels is up for debate. I really don’t need them and have my mind set on a set of Panasports or something similar. It’s still awesome to have a set of originals however.
The chrome Lotus hubcaps are in nice condition with only a small amount of pitting. They should polish up nicely. I had never noticed before but it’s interesting that the venting holes in these Lotus only rims are in the shape of the Lotus logo. Very cool!
